Investiture Ceremony at Millennium College Khyber Campus Peshawar
Gathered on 20th November 2020, the students of G3, As, and A levels a part of the student council took part in the Annual Oath Taking Ceremony at Roots Millennium School & College Khyber Campus, Peshawar. All the students that were chosen on the basis of their determination, hard-work and passion were formally handed over their responsibilities to live up to all the faith invested in them by the school and its administration.
Members ranged from the Heads and Deputy Heads of the school, President, Vice President, General Secretary and Treasurers of over 20 Millennium clubs along with Captains and Vice Captains of the Houses; Hope, Unity, Peace and Courage.
A very special Guest of Honour was invited to the ceremony, Miss Ayesha Bano who is the member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (MPA), and also an LLB graduate and social activist! It was a complete honour to be graced with such a presence that the student council took major inspiration from.

The ceremony begun with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Angbeen Khalid, followed by the National Anthem. The ceremony then proceeded to Ma’am Meena and Ma’am Tehmeena discussing the importance of the ceremony taking place today and how this day forward it is up to the children to live up to the expectations kept from them and to honour themselves and their peers by making them proud and owning their position and all the responsibility that comes with it. Proceeding forward, all the elected students were awarded the sashes by the Principal of our college, Ma`am Tehmina Khalid, Ma`am Mehnaz Meena Gul Nasir, Head Mistress and Ma`am. Nazia Shah, Guidance Counselor.
Following that, Miss Ayesha, the chief guest gave an inspirational speech which left many students in awe of her success despite the hardships she faced to achieve it and how they aspire to persist in the face of adversity like she had. In hopes to involve the students more, she preferred to have a talk with the students than to give a speech therefore, she asked all the students a question; “What is something you want changed in the legislation?”
Many students were quick to respond with topics they felt passionate about. The responses ranged from ‘Environmental Conservation Laws’ to ‘No expected grades this year’ to ‘Free Education for all’. After this very informative discussion, all students stood up from their seats, raised their right hands as a show of promise and repeated after Miss Ayesha taking their oath solemnly swearing to not abusing their position and making sure they prove themselves worthy of the position they have been granted.
The ceremony ended on a very positive and light note discussing the importance of our actions and how deeply they impact other students and that put an end to an extremely enlightening ceremony.
