SUMMER INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE

SUMMER INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE

My summer vacation holidays were splendid as I got an opportunity of internship. Internship means gaining work or job experience.

It all started when my parents were browsing on social media, and they found an advertisement of PSI which means Property Shop Investment and it was offering internship classes for teenagers between ages 13 to 20 years. It was a level 3 program which means it happened twice before. My parents saw this as a great opportunity for me to excel at this young age, so that in future this would greatly benefit me. They took interest in ad and applied immediately.

First of all, they took an online interview, told us to fill a form, which was just relevant to survey and all I knew about real estate and to meet them at their headquarters to have some discussion with our parents. They gave us some information on where we’ll have to go, for how many days and what will be done there.

In my first day, we introduced ourselves to the coaching staff and they introduced themselves to us too. They taught us about crafting a perfect pitch and they gave us a recap on stages 1 and 2. They also gave us some information about the 6 departments there, which are human resources, interact centre, business development, learning and development, marketing and the last one of them is sales.

Now the second day had arrived and that day, we got some information about PSI and we practiced to make some presentations on Canva, Google slides and PPT. After practicing that, it was time for me and my colleagues to select our departments. I chose business development, but since a lot of people chose it, they had to divide the excessive members into other departments. Because of which, I got interact call centre department. I was so disappointed, but little did I knew how marvellous it would be for me. So, this was how our second day ended.

The third day was my favourite. This day, we went to our chosen departments and met its manager. He gave us some basic information about the department. After that, we worked with the agents of the department, and it was my favourite thing. They showed us the way things are going on in their department.

In the fourth day, we had to address the departments need and find an innovative idea that can tackle that critical situation. So after some brainstorming, we came up with an idea that their software should be better. It could be done by investing in CRM website and their Wi-Fi, as we witnessed it there, that it’s a problem for their agents and their customers. So, this was how our 4th day went.

Now, it was time for the shark tank panel presentation, which means that we’ll be pitching our idea to the head of other departments and CEO of PSI. But, since a lot of people were absent, it was delayed and was to be done the next day. So, this day wasn’t so productive compared to others, as it was just for practicing.

The final day had arrived, and we began our day with shark tank presentation. The first turn was ours and I wasn’t satisfied by this. Because, we could have more time for practicing. But it didn’t matter that much as we performed great and I spoke confidently to the panel of managers, which pleased me. I also liked other department’s presentation, but I liked learning and development and business development’s presentation the most as, it was clear that they put much more effort than others and how effectively they pitched their idea to the sharks.

After that, it was snacks time and there was a closing ceremony. PSI also introduced their AI avatar that they made for customer services. After introducing that, it was farewell time, and I said goodbye to my friends and coaches with whom I had a great time.

With all above I said, we can conclude that summer jobs or internships can play a vital role in our future careers. In western countries, this is an opportunity for youth, and this gives them more practical approach for what they read in the books. We also need these kinds of opportunities in our society, so that in future, our youth will be our society’s saviour.
