Art – Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder
“ Life beats down and crushes the soul and art reminds you that you have one.” Art festivals have been the main attraction of cities and towns. It is an activity that showcases the arts at their greatest diversity. Art forces people to look beyond what is necessary for survival and guides them to create for the sake of expression and meaning. Art can convey information, shape our daily lives, leave a social mark and be enjoyed for its aesthetic beauty. It is the diversity of creativity and the different art forms such as visual arts, music, dance, photography and performing arts that have filled this journey with colours of joy.
An art festival was organized by the Arts Council. Many different schools from all over the country took part in this great festival. The duration of this festival was six hours, and it took place in a very spacious hall that was beautifully decorated. This festival was a perfect combination of creativity, discovery and exploration, uniqueness and diversity which aimed at generating funds for orphanages and improving the local image of our developing city.
Various activities took place at this festival. Some other classmates and I were selected to participate in this arts festival and were given the honour of representing our school and raising funds for this type of action, cultural crafts and the creation of intellectual paintings that whisper words of hope. While the other group of students were preparing a drama called “The Sorrow of the Orphanage”, which not only won the admiration of the audience, but also brought in a lot of money. Because of the colorful and clever costumes, masks and accessories, this drama became popular. Their hard work and tireless dedication turned out to be a real miracle.
Being part of this festival was an unforgettable experience for us as students as it brought us immense benefits. Participating in these fascinating activities not only encouraged self-expression and confidence, but also helped us to take a break from the troubling Covid situation and to connect and explore our inner selves. Artistic learning enriches the learning experience at school and prepares students for life after school. Also, this arts festival was featured by one of the news channels and luckily, a group of arts students got the good news to perform at the mega arts festival. This gave our school a higher profile and helped it to achieve higher standards. The funds raised also made a significant contribution to the development of the schools’ art space.
This event played an important role in breeding a large batch and made our life as colorful as the prismatic diamond. It was truly a moment to cherish, a moment to remember forever. I am grateful for the support of the administration team to make this arts festival a great success.
