WWF-Green School Programme-Food Wastage Session

WWF-Green School Programme-Food Wastage Session

An informative session on Food Wastage was organized by The Millennium Education in collaboration with WWF Pakistan Green School Programme. The aim of the session was to create awareness among students about food wastage. Why waste food when it can be shared? Why order more food than required?

Globally, wasted Food is enough to feed three billion people 10 times the population of the United States, more than twice that of China, and more than three times the total number of malnourished globally. In fact, Pakistan is currently ranked 94 out of 117 countries in terms of suffering from world hunger, with 40% of our food going to waste. Given that 43% of our citizens are food insecure and 18% face a severe shortage, it is important to learn about food conservation and stop food wastage.

WWF-Green School Programme-Food Wastage Session

WWF Green School Programme planned an awareness session on food waste with the purpose to inspire students to start making a change from their homes and stand up to support the movement for reducing food wastage and minimizing the harmful effects on the Earth.

Our millennials actively participated in this session and got happy to learn the ways to cut down on food waste and adopt a healthy diet.
