You Know What They Say: Capitalize On Your Sadness And Turn It Into Poetry

My mind is too tired
Trying to remember the forgotten
An unfitting piece of memory
Among the lost and the fallen

Smashing against my head
Are the cascades of my thoughts
But before I can touch them
They vaporize leaving me distraught

Shedding pieces of myself
That I didn’t know were there before
Maybe that’s the way life is
Knocking on a locked door

Scared of stepping above the line
Beyond which the truth lies
But I’m slowly becoming someone
That I can no longer recognize

Caught up in the black hole of oblivion
There is something I learned from the pain
That sometimes we need to lose ourselves
In order to be whole again
