Kashmir Solidarity Day

Kashmir Solidarity Day

Kashmir solidarity day is celebrated on 5th February The conflict started between India and Kashmiris after the partition of Pakistan in 1947 as both

India and Pakistan claimed the entire former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is a dispute over the region that escalated into three wars between India and Pakistan and several other armed skirmishes.

What is the purpose of celebrating this day? It is an observance of Pakistan’s support of and unity with the people of Indian-administrated Kashmir, the separatists’ efforts to secede from India, and to pay homage to the Kashmiris who have died in the conflict.

Contemplating all these above reasons, Roots Millennium School. also directed to celebrate this day. All of the students were representing Kashmiris by wearing Kashmiri dresses and their famous jiggni (jewelry). We commenced our function with different teblos which showed how cruel Indian soldiers are abusing and torturing Kashmiris.

We also had some speeches done by young millennials, which were motivational and enthusiastic. Through their speeches, we realized how much Kashmiris are suffering from Indian’s torture and cruelty. In the end, we sang national songs / Anthem to give respect to our country.

The purpose of this whole function and speeches was to make us aware of the duties that we have to perform in the future for our country. These functions and ceremonies are held to tell Kashmiris that we are standing with them. Not just to arrange a function and say it verbally that we care about you and are with you but should take a stand for them and do as much as possible.

It is the duty of every nation to raise its voice against Indian cruelty, bloodshed, and unjust behavior towards Muslims of Kashmir. Pakistani government raised this issue in United Nations as well to bring the attention of other countries towards it.

Everyone should condemn Indian’s attitudes and force them to leave Kashmir and accept them as an individual nation. I’m sure, if the collective effort is made, the day will come when people of occupied Kashmir will get freedom from all this Ill-treatment going on for long.
