The Best Things About My School
1st March was a day that I was looking forward to as we were supposed to go back to school but to a brand new purpose built campus. It was supposed to be bigger than our old school!
The first sight of our new campus thrilled me!
Our new building has two big grounds. One ground is cemented, it is for playing basketball but we use it to play Football. The main reason we use it to play Football is because the ground that should be used to play Football isn’t ready to be put in use as some grass is being put on it. We also have a sport’s room where all the sport’s equipment is kept. There are 3 floors in the school. My class is on the 2nd floor. The corridors are very long with classes on either sides of them. On the walls, some noticeboards have also been put. Some boards show things like best kept class or the best students of a class.
They have many dustbins in all parts of the school but not many kids use them, still the school is kept clean and well-organized. Coolers are available from which we can refresh ourselves after playing. All the walls are painted bright and pretty so when you enter a classroom, you feel fresh. Best of all is the furniture. In our old school, we had to sit on tables and chairs that were not painted but now we get to sit on proper chairs and well-painted tables that are customized for Roots Millennium Schools. Some more really exciting features are the well-designed ICT labs, a Science lab and the coolest, one of a kind, chill out room. This room is permitted to grade 6 and above. I think its best for when it rains or when its too hot outside. Unfortunately I am in grade 5 and I can’t go in there. I am anxiously waiting to get into grade 6 so that I can experience how it is to be in there. The things that are in there are is a Table-Tennis set, Table Soccer, a Carom Board and 2 sets of Snooker!! Although I don’t know how to play it I still like it.
I love the sections of the classes. Each class is named after a city like Ottawa or Bangkok. The name of my section is Amman, which is a city from Jordan. Another thing I like is that in every corridor they have put big boards that have the name of a famous person; it also contains some information about that person. Every time I pass a corridor, I read those and memorize them.
One thing I still haven’t talked about are my teachers. The first day I came to school, I was a little upset because some of my teachers were changed. As the days passed, I started to really like my new teachers. They are equally nice and encouraging as my previous teachers. I’m glad to be a student of one of the coolest schools in Pakistan!
